Why do Christians, Muslims, Hindus and Atheists fail to follow the ten commandments handed to Moses?

  • Christians worship christ - who is not God and thus break the first commandment

Muslims worship Allah - who is not God and thus break the first commandment

Hindus worship everything - which is not God and thus breaks the first commandment

Atheists don't worship anything which breaks the first commandment.

You have all been told that Jewish people are the chosen ones and that you are just along for the ride. Don't you realise that your silly religions are a blasphemy to God? You have been warned.

  • Only christians and Jews follow the ten commandments.

    Duh.

  • Technically, atheism does not violate the First Commandment.

"You shall have no other gods before me..."

Atheists do not believe in any gods, therefore it is impossible for us to violate the First Commandment.

  • First, God gave to Moses 613 commandments which ten are highlighted. No one commandment is more important than another.

Second, the 613 commandments were given to Israel (Jacob and his descendants).

Here are the highlighted 10 categories:

    1. Belief in God
This category is derived from the declaration in Ex. 20:2 beginning, "I am the Lord, your God..."

    2. Prohibition of Improper Worship
This category is derived from Ex. 20:3-6, beginning, "You shall not have other gods..." It encompasses within it the prohibition against the worship of other gods as well as the prohibition of improper forms of worship of the one true God, such as worshiping God through an idol.

    3. Prohibition of Oaths
This category is derived from Ex. 20:7, beginning, "You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain..." This includes prohibitions against perjury, breaking or delaying the performance of vows or promises, and speaking God's name or swearing unnecessarily.

    4. Observance of Sacred Times
This category is derived from Ex. 20:8-11, beginning, "Remember the Sabbath day..." It encompasses all related to Shabbat, holidays, or other sacred time.

    5. Respect for Parents and Teachers
This category is derived from Ex. 20:12, beginning, "Honor your father and mother..."

    6. Prohibition of Physically Harming a Person
This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not murder."

    7. Prohibition of Sexual Immorality
This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not commit adultery."

    8. Prohibition of Theft
This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not steal." It includes within it both outright robbery as well as various forms of theft by deception and unethical business practices. It also includes kidnapping, which is essentially "stealing" a person.

    9. Prohibition of Harming a Person through Speech
This category is derived from Ex. 20:13, saying, "You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor." It includes all forms of sins relating to speech.

    10. Prohibition of Coveting
This category is derived from Ex. 20:14, beginning, "You shall not covet your neighbor's house..."

It is the first category that you don't understand: The belief in God. The English word God means the name God gave to Moses: YHWY. Allah also refers to this name.

Christians follow Christ by teaching His message to all nations. It assumes the belief in God.

Muslims follow the teachings of Muhammad which simply states the Allah (God) is one and Muhammad is His Prophet. Obviously, belief in Allah (Arabic name for YWHY) is assumed here.

Hindus worship the God head. It assumes God, but not God in the 2nd category.

Atheists do not believe in God.

Answer: You have stated the obvious poorly. As for your warning of violation of the 9th category, God not man (including you) judges. Rather than making silly comparison of belief, you may want to master one before claiming to be God yourself.

  • Umm.. Christians worship God so i dont know what you are saying there (do your research on the trinity) Muslims follow the Five Pillars Hindus believed in Karma and since Athiests don't believe in God they don't follow commandments so they do not Fail

  • "Allah" is Arabic for God, not that it matters since you are clearly not Jewish! A Jew would never write that word like that, troll!

  • First off Jesus Christ is God
"I and the Father are one." The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God." (John 10:30-33)

And nobody can keep the 10 commandments if they aren't surrendered to Christ. If you are in Christ you don't sin because in Him is no sin (1 John 3:5)

  • Okay, first of all: Atheism isn't a religion.

second: We don't believe in the ten commandments, or rather should I say some "rules" a schizophrenic a55 wrote AND made up. We follow common sense on what is bad and what is good. Also learning from trial-and-error and conditioning.

Don't you realize your silly religion is just as ignorant as the xtian's and muslims and even the hindu's? ( I respect them (Hindu) on a MUCH broader basis then your silly religion, though.)

Get a brain. You have been warned. dumba55.

  • Hey, don't leave us Pagans out of it.

  • Have you ever thought that maybe, just maybe, the bible is a book of moral homilies meant to be taken as mythology with a message?

And would your god approve of you demeaning those of other religious views?
"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

  • and the bigotry begins...

  • Well for most of those mentioned, I think, the "ten commandments" are not ours. So we don't really care what your religion says, sorry.

  • My 1st commandment:Say: He is God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begets not, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him. (Surah 112)

    Who really follows these Commandments?

    Our answer may surprise you!

Judaism, Christianity and Islam have full agreement over most of the commandments which deal with murder, stealing, false witness, honoring parents and love for the neighbors. Muslims also believe that Israelites were asked to observe sabath. It is most interesting to read the first two or three commandments( depends on the version) and see who actually follows these. According to the King James Version Bible, the following are the verses 1-7 of Chapter 20, Exodus:

"1 And God spake all these words, saying,
2 I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
    5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
6 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain."

These verses clearly condemn polytheism in any shape or form. Those who make idols and worship them are condemned by God. Those who call any one god other than the Almighty God are also condemned. This includes those who say, God is Jesus or Jesus is God or God is three. The above mentioned verse 3 of Exodus states, "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."

Also, the verse 4 above of the Book of Exodus forbids images of God. That means those Christians who believe in the Ten Commandments should not have images of god in their churches.

Under these observations, it is the Muslims not the Christians who really follow the above verses 1-7 of the Book of Exodus

    By the way,,,WHICH TEN COMMANDMENTS???

    Protestant

    Hebrew

    1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

    2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And showing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

    3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh His name in vain.

    4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labor, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    4. Honor thy Father and thy Mother.

    4. Remember the sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work. But the seventh day is the sabbath in honour of the Lord thy God; on it thou shalt not do any work, neither thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates; For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

  • 1st of all, Christ is God, so you're wrong about Christians breaking the first commandment. (You can't claim to know our religion and not know that Jesus and God are the same, in our beliefs.)

2nd: People aren't perfect. We break commandments all the time. It doesn't mean we aren't what we say we are.

  • You're not kidding anyone. Authentic Jews believe they were given over 600 commandments.

But nice superiority complex all the same Tiger!

  • Haven't you heard? The old testament no longer applies to us. If it did we could stone to death adulterers in the streets, kill wiccans, and kill preachers of other religions.

  • John 8:58-59

I tell you the truth," Jesus answered, "before Abraham was born, I AM!" At this, they picked up stones to stone him, but Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds.

You call Him Christ, but do not worship him as The Christ(which means messiah). You do know that He came first for the Jewish people, right? He is the fulfillment of everything spoken of by the patriarchs.

  • Why do you ask this like this? Are you Jewish? Christians worship the true God. God sent his Son, Jesus Christ to die for our sins. He rose again the 3rd day and then when he went back to heaven he sent the holy spirit for us.

We keep the commandments in the New Testament by the grace of God. We are living by grace not by the law after we get saved. God bless you.

  • In the new testament Jesus said the most important of the 10 commandments is to love god with all your heart and soul, and that's what I try to do, it may not be what you do but I wish that people would just respect me for what I believe and not try to tel me I am wrong, I don't say that to you. You go a head a believe what you want, but I think that this a rude question that shows to educational qualitys.

  • Because Hinduism came thousands of years before your friend Moses !

Here goes another bigot with "my religon is the greatest" !!* rolls eyes*

  • Atheists don't believe in a god.. So we are excluded from your little question.

  • your opinions aren't facts and you're not proving anything nor will you change the minds of everyone which is what you really want
