Why do Atheists like to come on here and brag about having no purpose?

  • I have never bragged about having "no purpose". I have stated succinctly and repeatedly that my sole purpose for being here is to help other sentient beings.
    As far as purposes go, I think it's a good one.

    We simply don't see the whole purpose of life as avoiding hell.

  • I have a purpose. Several, really. My purpose is to raise my children to be good, caring, responsible people. It's to teach my students as well as I possibly can. It's to make a positive difference in the world. And to make a positive difference in as many lives as I can. Just because my purpose is not to serve a god that may or may not be there, doesn't mean I have no purpose. All it means is that I'm doing it out of compassion, not out of fear of punishment after death.

  • i dont get why they hang out in the R&S section. they are kind of contradicting themselves. ive also come to see that they are terribly immature also. they ask the most ridiculous questions and love insulting christians.

    We all get to decide what purpose we have. It's just that you decided your purpose is to follow a particular ancient book (and behave like a jerk in your spare time).

    i dont beleive theres much purpose in us, but i hardly go around going, oh wow im so happy i have to tell everyone theres really no purpose

    that doesnt make any sence

    its jut them expressing their opinion, as you are now, and you take it whatever way you do
    that doesnt mean thats actually what they are doing or saying
    just how you percieve it

    and everyone, i emphasis everyone, is on here to express their opinions, help someone, get advice etc, not one specific group of people, not one specific religion
    so even if someoen were bragging about that or anything else, that is their right to, as it is yours to question it here,

    but to question why anyone says anything on here, simply cos you dont like the way they say it or agree means you are also questioning your own opinions and words on here too


    ie why are you asking why athiests come on her to brag about that?
    its the same thing
    im guessing you think their questions are stupid or of no use, but equally so is this question of yours......its all the same

  • There is a difference between not being here because of a purpose, and not having a personal purpose.
