What is "indexing" on my computer?

  • Something just appeared on my computer recently. I guess it's called indexing, with the magnifying glass icon on the bottom-right toolbar.

    Is it necessary? And if not, how can I get rid of it? I'm not use to seeing it previously. I try to delete it by exiting but everytime I restart the computer it re-appears.


  • indexing is just that, it indexes your files so they can be easily searched for later (the name and the file type)

    If it keeps reappearing it means that it is recreated by the system because it is a necessary file

    just leave the file alone, it wont hurt your computer
