This is probably a very simple fix, but I can't find it... I have a reeeaally simple flash movie that just has some movie clips with text moving around. It looks right for the most part, but for some reason, in older Flash players, the text is gone. I've tried publishing as an older version, but it doesn't seem to be working. Any ideas? Thanks!Make sure you're embedding your fonts in your text boxes. but ultimately, the best fix is for your users to install the latest Flash Player. :)Flash 8 has advanced text renderer - and that's why some texts dissapear.
If the render type is 'custom' or 'antiAlias for readability' - it will dissapear in older versions
You must set this property to AntiAlias for Animation (looks worse but appears )))
I set the text as antiAlias for Animation, published the movie for Flash Player 6, and I'm still having the same issue. Anybody have any other ideas?Setting different antialiasing to text sure isn't the right way to achieve this.
For those who use pixelfonts for instance, it'd get simply awful, and the text still wouldn't show up in older players.
Relevant websites have a flashplayer detector.
If you don't have the latest player, it'll automatically install it, warning the user. That's the only way it can be done, and it's basically is the obvious one.
Still, I'm trying to figure that outThanks, I'll look into that. Any suggestions where to start?yep - the older flash players will attempt to display later version swfs - that is if you're not placing any type of player detection. Thats one issue I've experienced: fonts disappearing. For certain quick client previews, I used to avoid placing detection on the html pages - but ran into this during the flash player 7 - 8 switch that was going on earlier this year. I'd recommend always using some type of player detection.Flash 8 has advanced text renderer - and that's why some texts dissapear.

You must set this property to AntiAlias for Animation (looks worse but appears )))If this is really an issue, I suggest you advise people flash player ___ required.Well, they're static text boxes, and the 'embed' option only appears in dynamic text boxes, so I'm assuming it is embeding the font automatically... Is that right?
And I do agree that everybody needs to keep up on their Flash Players better :P#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
