Am I low on oil or is it a sensor to change the oil. I added a quart and light is still on. This will sound crazy but I can't tell for sure from looking at the dip stick what the oil level is.( I have been checking the oil in my cars for 20 years) There is a thin film of oil on the dip stick so its either full or empty and not registering. I bought it used and put about 1000 miles on it and this is the first time I have checked it. I would change my oil and then you have two press the gas pedal all the way down 3 times in 3 seconds for it to go off.is it a low oil light or a change oil reset light?to reset your change oil light, press the gas pedal down 3 times slowly within 5secs with the key on and engine off,now if its a low oil light and its full of oil, you'll most likely need a Oil Level Sensor, most likely that will fix it but if the light doesn't go out you'll need to take it to GM so they can flash the computer.did it come with an owners manual? can you find the indicator lamp on google or something and post a link? those vans have 2 indicators i belive. the one says "change oil" and the other is just an icon. i'm assuming unless it the "change oil" light than it's probably the level sensor. wish i could be more helpthe oil light just may need to be reset go to any local sears auto center and they will do it for you with a oil change...#If you have any other info about this subject , Please add it free.# |
