Looking for a pair of plain black cowboy boots with a square toe.
No dual colors, fancy embroidery or buckles on side,with a 12-15" shaft.
Not willing to have a pair of custom boots made for $600
Does anyone know of a source?Find yourself a reputable boot store that specializes in good quality boots making sure they carry names like "Lucchese, Resistol, Tony lama and or Justin", get a sales person to fit his feet correctly and be prepared to spend $150-$300 for a REAL pair of boots that will last possibly for the rest of his life if he takes care of them and he can be proud to wear them too.Doctor Martens brand - Icon Steel Toe Rigger boots or the Luke Rigger boot might be the kind you're looking for. They aren't usually marketed as "cowboy boots" but they will serve that purpose. The Luke Rigger's don't come in black.
