how many children in the UK are murdered by their families or foster parents?. I read somewhere that it is more than 50 but we never get to hear their sad stories - can this be true?. I believe its very likely to be true - shameful but we are not the only country with these awful things going on What!?
Those people are NOT coming out of jail at all. Ever again. You wait and see. Steven Barker will be sentenced to Life without parole.
Children are murdered at the hands of their parents and guardians far too often, and it does not just apply in the UK.
Now please rephrase your question. It's gobbledeegoop.It is quite frightening to think about the figures - think its something that in "normal" society people like to brush under the carpet and pretend doesn't exist - thats why its good that the case of poor Peter Connelly (sorry but baby P deserves to have his correct name used) has been splashed over the headlines - it makes us realise what goes on behind some closed doors. Hopefully some good will come out of this and people will start to take notice if they suspect anything untoward is going onto a child that they may know.
The scariest thing for me though is the mother, how on earth she could condone and take part in something so horrific on her child. What happened to mothering instinct to protect? I know that being a mother myself i would die for my children and god help anyone that dare to hurt them!! The mother will probably claim that she was being abused herself by the boyfriend and that she was too scared to say anything - so i wouldn't be suprised in the slightest if she was out shortly. Thats the sad thing about our justice system - the time never fits the crime. She will get let out and because of the publicity surrounding the case she'll be relocated and given a new identity and money to start a new life! Loads I'm sure, but hopefully now we can all be more aware of whats going on around us, and wont feel guilty or silly calling the police if we suspect something. As for the creatures Connolly and Barker, they will be put away for a long time. Even if some do good-er lets them out eventually everyone will still know who they are and they will be hounded out and never be allowed to find peace. (Quite rightly). So lets make as much fuss as possible to get the powers that
be to listen us, demand a major nationwide review of this scandal,
