  • There are tons of things you can do, depending on your personal limitations.

Cut back on driving alone and start riding a bike, walking, carpooling or taking public transportation when necessary.

Reuse everything you can.. what you can't reuse, recycle (if you can)..
before you throw anything away see what it is and if any part of it can be recycled. Buy recycled products, and just buy less products in general. Buy used whenever possible.

Compost if you have a backyard. Buy organic foods, local foods, foods with the least amount of processing and packaging. Cut back on animal products.

Eliminate, or at least cut back on bottled beverages. Take bags with you when you go to a store. Don't take a disposable bag if you don't need one. Bring a mug with you to get coffee. Buy products in glass instead of plastic if there's an option.

Turn off lights when you aren't using them, use energy efficient light bulbs and appliances whenever possible, buy electricity from a renewable resource supplier. Turn down your heat and insulate your house better. Wash your clothes in cold water and dry on a line or a rack.

Basically, just try to be more aware of how your actions affect the environment (and the world!), and make what changes you can. Maybe you can't stop driving, but you can stop drinking bottled water and you can only buy recycled paper products. Or, maybe you can't afford organic food, but you can afford renewable electricty sources (through your regular electric company) and carry a mug with you. It's all really up to the individual, but every single person can find their own ways to reduce, reuse and recycle.
