PS If this post might lead others back into this forum before it is ready, feel free to kill it.
Please see this link if you are interested in Beta Testing.
Beta Testing (http://www.agnitum.com/products/outpost/betatest.html)
Have a good day. :)
There are hundreds of beta testers. However Version 2 has only been released to the russian speaking testers and the Mods as of now. I can tell you that so far V2 is working very well. I had it installed for a little while and loved it. My problem is that this is my mission critical work machine. I don't have time to configure a whole new configuration (couldn't import my hundreds of Active Content settings.) so I reinstalled ver 1. Very soon Ver 2 will be released to the rest of the testers and that updated version should be able to be installed right over Version 1 with full import of settings. I can hardly wait:):)
I don't think it will take too much beta testing before general release. (That was my own prediction and not official in any way)
Take care,
Chris

I am not sure how Agnitum selects Beta Testers. Probably it is a combination of things including the persons PC specs, experience, and technical knowledge. I started Beta Testing in order to get experience with the product before trying to support it here. You will just have to wait and see what Mikhail or Danil says. Good Luck. :)

but I do understand that before ver. 1 was released, there were alot of beta testers. I quite imagine after reading alot of the post in this fourm and trying out Outpost myself, that the majority of the original beta testers have stuck with such a stable product.
Not sure how many there were then or are now. But, occasionally another Beta Tester is added for one reason or another.

Lucky guys and gals, got free updates for life, geez what a deal. Sure wish I new about Agnitum back then. Oh well, I can wait until Outpost V2 is ready for public release
Even users buying before the official V1 release were able to take advantage of that offer. It was a good deal at the time and I stumbled onto it only two weeks before it ended.
Anyway, that is all I can say about those things.
Have a good day. :)

So the link Danil mentions is down until next week? Or is this forum I am currently posting in supposed to be down until next week?
FYI...the only link that I can make work is:
http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/
That is OK. This post shouldn't lead anybody anywhere since nobody has had a chance to subscribe. It is OK to post to ChitChat, but any application support will have to wait until at least Monday.
Thanks... :)
I just wanted to let you know that we now understand why the main outpostfirewall site is blank. It was meant to be. You see now this is an entirely user administered forum. As such, the intent was for the forum leaders with the help of some users to build a web site at www.outpostfirewall.com . That website will probably have a link to Agnitum, the Outpost Guide, this forum, and other resources that might help the user of Outpost. We are currently in the planning stages and will eventually have something there. For now, the only two links that I am sure work are:
http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/
http://www.outpostfirewall.com/guide/
I just wanted to updated you since you did ask. :)
Have a good evening. :)
Yeah, this forum that you are currently posting in is supposed to be down till next week :D:D:D I guess it works now. I just replied to you.:D:D:D

Hi Chris, thank you for the reply. It would be nice if V2 does release soon, but like alot of the good people in this forum, I am willing to be patient and wait until Agnitum is ready. No rush, on my Win XP pro PC, I have had only one crash (not counting the ones I cause, one of these days I will have to learn to stop tinkering, oh well :D ). My system has been very stable with both the Pro trial and the free versions and I have no complaints. I was hoping to get in on the Beta test side, but understand that is more suited to programmers than with people who love to work and tinker with the software/hardware like me. :D
Have a good day
Doug
